Chochołowskie Termy are the largest thermal bath complex in the Podhale region, with almost 4,500 m² of water surface and 52 pools and basins. Located in the village of Chochołów, around 25-35 minutes’ drive from Zakopane, the complex offers a huge variety of things to do, from indoor and outdoor thermal pools and whirlpools to water attractions, slides, relaxation areas and a large saunarium. The size of the complex means there is plenty to explore, but it is also one of the most popular and busiest thermal baths in the area. During weekends, school holidays and peak summer and winter periods, it can become particularly crowded. If you want to enjoy the pools at a more relaxed pace, it is worth planning your visit carefully and, where possible, choosing a weekday or quieter time of day.
Terma Bania
Terma Bania is a popular thermal complex in Białka Tatrzańska, around 30-40 minutes from Zakopane, and is particularly well suited to families. The complex is divided into different zones, including areas for families and children, as well as quieter relaxation spaces, with both indoor and outdoor thermal pools. You can expect warm, mineral-rich water, outdoor pools with views towards the Tatra Mountains, water slides, whirlpools and plenty of space for children to play. There is also a separate sauna area for those looking for a more relaxing experience. Like the other popular thermal baths around Zakopane, Terma Bania can get busy, especially during weekends and school holidays, so visiting outside the busiest hours can make for a more enjoyable experience.
Goracy Potok
Gorący Potok offers a slightly different thermal-bath experience, with a more natural and rustic atmosphere than some of the larger, modern complexes. The pools are filled with naturally warm geothermal water, and many of them are located outdoors, making it especially enjoyable when you can relax in the warm water while taking in the surrounding mountain scenery. There are several pools with different temperatures, along with water attractions, slides, hydromassage areas and zones for relaxation. Gorący Potok also has a large sauna area and spa facilities, while families can make use of the children’s attractions. Its more laid-back, natural character is part of its appeal, although it can still become busy during weekends and peak holiday periods.

Termy Bukowina
Termy Bukovina is one of the best-known thermal baths in the Zakopane region and was one of the first major thermal complexes to open in the area. Today, it combines modern facilities with the natural geothermal waters that have made the region famous. The complex offers a selection of indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpools, water attractions and relaxation areas, with the outdoor pools offering beautiful views towards the Tatra Mountains. There is also a sauna zone and spa facilities for those looking to unwind. Compared with some of the larger and more heavily visited thermal complexes around Zakopane, Termy Bukovina is often a little quieter, making it a good option if you want to enjoy the thermal waters in a more relaxed atmosphere. It can still get busy at weekends and during school holidays, so visiting during quieter periods is recommended.
Termy Szaflary
Termy Szaflary is a smaller thermal complex located in the village of Szaflary, making it a convenient option for visitors travelling from Zakopane. It has a more intimate feel than some of the region’s larger thermal parks, with indoor and outdoor pools filled with naturally warm geothermal water. The complex includes relaxation pools, whirlpools, water attractions and areas where you can simply sit back and enjoy the warm water. One of its attractions is the outdoor pool, where you can relax in the thermal water while enjoying views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. Termy Szaflary can be a good choice if you prefer a less overwhelming experience than some of the larger complexes, although it can still become busy at weekends and during school holidays.
Zakopianski Termy
Aqua Park Zakopane is a little different from the other thermal complexes around Zakopane, as it combines a traditional indoor aqua park with an outdoor thermal pool area. Inside, you will find a range of swimming and leisure pools, slides, water attractions and family-friendly facilities, making it a good option when the weather isn’t on your side. Outside, the focus shifts to the geothermal experience, with warm thermal pools where you can relax while enjoying views towards the Tatra Mountains. This makes Aqua Park Zakopane particularly convenient if you want to combine water fun and thermal bathing in one place, without travelling far from the centre of Zakopane. The outdoor thermal section is especially enjoyable in colder weather, when the contrast between the warm water and fresh mountain air creates a memorable experience.

New Thermal Baths Coming to the Region
The thermal-bath scene around Zakopane is set to grow even further, with two major new complexes currently under construction. In Nowy Targ, the new Nowotarskie Termy are being built on Szaflarska Street and are planned to include around 32 pools, indoor and outdoor areas, slides, saunas and wellness facilities. The complex is expected to welcome its first visitors in spring 2029.
Closer to Zakopane, the Bachleda Termy Kasprowy is being developed at Polana Szymoszkowa, next to the Bachleda Kasprowy Hotel. The large year-round geothermal complex will include indoor and outdoor pools, recreational and wellness areas, a saunarium and outdoor pools with views of the Tatra Mountains. The current target is for the first guests to arrive by the end of 2028.
These two new developments will add even more choice for visitors to the Podhale region and are likely to make thermal bathing an even bigger part of the Zakopane experience.
